I started this one when the snow still covered the Scandinavian woods, and now it is finished only in the middle of summer. Slow is painting when having babies This is my personal interpretation of a classic character of Russian folklore, the Snegurochka, or Snow Maiden, daughter of Frost and Spring. Despite she's typically depicted as a merry and kind girl, I wanted to show her sadness, since the legend tells her heart will melt, and she'll die, when she will first fall in love.
Edit: WOOOW, a DD! I'll never, ever though it! Thank you so much everybody, for suggestion, feature, faves, and so on. You really made my day, and hope the Snow maiden will be a little happier, too
Thank you very much! I wasn't prepared at all to get a DD, and not for this picture. But art is not science and different people like different things, I learned. Surely, I'm very grateful and happy someone liked her so much
It sounds wonderful to have a dream with these mythical characters, and I can imagine that you couldn't use other words than awesome. I hope also that your dream was more sweet than the sad story behind Snegurochka!
In my dream, I was attending a school for fairy-tale characters, where I was learning how to become a good witch. Snegurochka was one of the professors at the school. She generally acted cheerful and sweet, but she didn't seem to be completely sane (similar to the personification of Russia in the anime Hetalia). She adopted a fairy changeling and fought a very impressive-looking duel against the Queen from Snow White.
So, yes, I think the best word to describe it is "awesome".
Seriously, this is not only awesome, but could be the basis for a good novel! It reminds me of both harry Potter (the school of magic, sort of) and Once upon a time, the series (where they mix a lot of well-known fairy tales). I think you should write down a plot about this dream.
